Pair Females Shaki

$4,400.00Price
  • An antique pair from Shaki, in the Oyo tribe territory

An exceptional pair with a beautiful multicolor aspect, decorated with many old ornaments, which is sign of the wealth of the family. These Ibeji show all the signs of their age and of a long tribal usage. The hairstyles are covered with indigo pigment and are composed of braids that gathered up on top of the head. The rims of the bases are decorated with a lozenge design. The base of one Ibeji has one piece missing and presents a rare metal tribal repair on the other side. Traces of red camwood patina are still present. The necklaces are made of old white glass beads, the belts of coconut shells, and the arms of both statuettes are adorned with metal wristlets.

  • Ibeji Art offers an unconditional guarantee of authenticity on the Ibeji sold because they are always accompanied by the Expertise of Fausto or Mauro Polo. READ MORE...
