  • A splendid pair of Ibeji from Oro, in the Igbomina tribe territory

    This is an antique pair of a male and a female with the typical characteristics of the Oro Ibeji. Both faces have an actrative smiling expression. The haistyle is covered by dark Blues reckitt stain. This was a domestic bleaching agent containing ultramarine, originally manufactured by Reckitt & Sons in England from 1840 and commonly used on the Ibeji hairstyle. Both Ibeji have residual reddish camwood patina non the bodies and are covered with old and genuine cowries shell vest.
