Single Female Ede
An antique Ibeji from the village of Ede, in the Oyo tribe territory.
This Ibeji presents the typical characteristics of the statuettes carved in Ede, with their very distinctive style. The Ibeji has an artistic hairstyle, consisting of five plaits, four outside and one central, rising from the top of the head, with dark blue paint traces. It is partially covered by a dark reddish camwood patina and has several beads and cowries ornaments. The shape of the base is uncommon and typical of this carver.
