  • A rare type of Ibeji from Ogbomosho, in the Oyo tribe territory

    This Ibeji represents a rare variation of the classical Ibeji from Ogbomosho, illustrated in the photo 451 of The Encyclopedia of the Ibeji. While it maintains unchanged most of the carving characteristics, such as the same width of mouth and nose, the scarification on the abdomen and on the face, the small breast, it has a different hairstyles, with one or two more crests of the most common type. This statuette has same traces of camwood patina and the hair are painted with blue Reckitt paint. One occasion to add to your collection a rarely seen Ibeji.
