  • A very fine Ibeji from Omu Aran, in the Igbomina tribe territory.

A very fine example of a male Ibeji from Omu Aran, in the Igbomina tribe territory.  The face is typical of the Ibeji created in Omu Aran, with protruding eyes, a long nose and a mouth pointing down. On the front and back of the body of this Ibeji there are many appealing wood scarifications. Other beaded ornaments are also present around the wrists. The coiffure is stained with Reckitt paint. A well preserved camwood patina covers ample parts of the body. This Ibeji wears a large and old vest, originally all covered with cowries.
