SINGLE IBEJI FEMALE ILA ORANGUN | IBEJI ART

A wonderful Ibeji from the village of Ila Orangun, Igbomina tribe. His carver is Ogunwuyi, well known and appreciated by African art collectors for his modern carving style and for the expressive force of his works. The statuette has an interesting natural dark background patina, with dark red camwood traces and the hairstyle presenting a fair blue Reckitt coloration. The Ibeji wears around the neck a carved necklace, which has engraved both on the front and on the back the characteristic islamic triangle, named “tirah”.                                                                                                                           Mauro Polo
