An ancient Ibeji from Ilorin, village situated in the wide Oyo tribe territory.
This statuette has a peculiar high and artistic hairstyle formed by four lateral carved plaits and one bigger central, all colored with Blue Reckitt paint, with light traces of indigo powder. The Ibeji shows a beautiful and particularly intense old brown natural patina with a good coverage size of rare dark red camwood. The facial somatic traits are slightly worn by the frequent mother’s caresses equally reserved both to the Ibeji statuette and to the young living children. The Ibeji is adorned with an old beaded lace around the neck and bracelets with old precious cowries.
