  • A very fine and antique male from Egbe, in the Yagba tribe territory

A splendid and taller than normal male (12 inches) with the hands touching horizontally, the key characteristic of all the Ibeji carved in Egbe. The Ibeji has also the typical coiffure composed of four braid gathered up in a central chignon. The coiffure was stained with a blue Reckitt pigment. There are many scarification marks on the front and on both cheeks of the statuette. Amples traces of reddish camwood are still visible on the body of the statuette. Beaded multicolor necklace around the neck
