  • Very fine female from Egbe

    Very old female carved in a workshop located in Egbe, in the Yagba tribe territory. The coiffure is composed of five braids gathered up and stained with Reckitt paint. The hands are touching together laying on the abdomen, like all the Ibeji from Egbe. The face presents some wear due to the mothernal caresses and the body still has some coverage of a darker camwood patina. Some losses due to termites witness the old age of this beautiful statuette.
