GOLD AND SILVER CERTIFICATES

Silver Certificate

The Silver Certificate is our classical certificate and contains the following information:

  • The photo of the Ibeji

  • The height

  • The place of origin

  • The degree of rarity

  • The carver or workshop, if known

  • The “Catalogue of the Ibeji” or “ Encyclopedia of the Ibeji” file number

Cost of the Silver Certificate

The cost of the Silver Certificate is 160 USD for each single Ibeji and 200 USD for each pair. This cost includes the shipping and insurance cost to send back the Ibeji and the certificate. In case of more than one expertise the cost will be reduced.

We will not ask for any payment for the statuette submitted if the expert will not sign the Certificate for any reason, such as the authenticity of the patina or the actual tribal use. In these cases the owner will have to pay only the cost to ship back the statuette. Method of payment accepted are Paypal, credit card, wire transfer or personal check.

Gold Certificate

The Gold Certificate is the most complete certificate and includes, in addition to the information contained in the Silver Certificate, a qualitative and commercial appraisal of the Ibeji, based upon the carving and patina characteristics and other positive or negative elements.

The Gold Certificate quantifies in this way the actual market value of your Ibeji  according to the evaluation method created by Fausto Polo and described in full details  in  “The Encyclopedia of the Ibeji”. The Gold Certificate contains the following information:

  •  The photo of the Ibeji

  • The height

  • The place of origin

  • The degree of rarity

  • The carver or workshop, if known

  • The “Catalogue of the Ibeji” and “Encyclopedia of the Ibeji” file number

  • The evaluation of the quality of patina and carving

  • Positive and negative elements

Cost of the Gold Certificate

The cost of a Gold Certificate is 200 USD for each single Ibeji and 250 USD for each pair. This cost included the shipping and insurance cost to send back the Ibeji and the certificate.
